When you are planning a wedding, or even a simply family or personal portrait, you can sometimes be tempted with free or low-cost photography by your well-meaning “friend with a camera”. When everything else costs so much, a little bit of money saved can seem wonderful, right? But, what are you really getting when you take them up on the offer? Sure, they may have a pretty good camera. They may have a good eye for a shot. They may even … [Read more...]

James and Sheena
A mutual friend hired me to photographer James and Sheenas wedding. They were married at Goward House here in Victoria. this is the second time I have shot there. Sheena was a former model and was so wonderful to work with and even helped out with suggesting poses and different angles to shoot from, which as many brides will tell you is an amazing feat to do on your wedding day. Again there were lots of children at the wedding so bringing along … [Read more...]
Toby and Sherry Lynn
Sherry Lynn has been a friend for many years and when she asked me to photograph her wedding I was flattered. She warned me that Toby had a few concerns about doing "Run of the mill poses" Sherry Lynn also asked me to teach toby how to do a specific swing dance move in order to get the picture of him swinging her off the ground (I made sure to include it here for you to see, you'll know it when you see it.) After a few photos all Tobys fears were … [Read more...]
Davin & Maren
Davin and Maren were married at a local vineyard and it was a beautiful ceremony. What really touched me was the fact that took the time to choose a location that was accessible to wheelchairs as one of Marens bridesmaids was confined to a wheelchair. That woman still serves as an inspiration to me to this day. As I said the venue for the wedding was beautiful and I still think of them every time I drive out in that area. … [Read more...]

Brian & Pauline
Brian and Pauline are both Ballroom dancers and that is how I met Brian. As he and I talked more we found we shared a love of photography. They were married at the Coast Harbour Side in Victoria after having to change their plans a few times. Paulines family are originally from Newfoundland and showed the true Newfie hospitality that anyone that has visited the "Rock" has come to know. I felt more like one of the family rather than just someone … [Read more...]
Bill & Nadine
Bill and Nadine were married in Williams Lake British Columbia. I traveled there with the Maid of Honour. The trip in it's self was memorable, but if you have never been there I suggest you make the trip and make sure you bring your camera. The bride and groom were actually relieved that I had thought to bring something to amuse the kids there. … [Read more...]
